Cabo Mil Radio - May 20, 2009

Cabo Noche and Hautter.com's co-founder and publisher, Derrick Grahn, joins a news panel on Cabo Mil (Cabo's local radio station) to discuss how the H1N1 flu virus has impacted the community. Grahn discusses what Cabo Noche and Hautter.com are doing to combat the effects of negative press on the local economy, including disseminating valuable pro-Mexico and pro-Cabo editorial content to over 10,000 local business professionals and over 38,000 Hautter.com members.

Grahn and Ernesto Luna (General Manager of ME by Meliã Cabo) also discuss their greatest investment in the local economy to date. Cabo Noche, Hautter.com and Balsley Productions, in cooperation with ME by Meliã Cabo and Passion Club, donated an investment of more than $70,000 US dollars to the promotion and production of the 3rd Annual Masquerade Ball on May 22nd, 2009.

The Masquerade event is one of four annual events that promoters Cabo Noche, Hautter.com and Balsley productions produce here in Cabo each year. Several weeks after the H1N1 outbreak, the promoters decided to take a loss on the event, by eliminating the $30 US dollar cover and offering FREE ADMISSION in order to bring more tourists into the community and, even more importantly, to boost local morale. Passion Club also donated a two hour open bar, from 9pm to 11pm. The gesture has paid off, as the bookings at ME by Meliã Cabo and surrounding hotels have increased and an estimated 1,500 people are expected to turn out for the event.
